After seeing the movie, we at ComingSoon can reveal who dies in the new Spider-Verse 2023 movie.
Are there any Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse character deaths?
Unlike its prequel, there are no significant deaths in Across the Spider-Verse.
Still, death is one of the main topics in the recently-released film. The common thread that led to the Spider-Society foundation is the so-called “Canon Events,” the inevitable death of a character closely related to the web-slinger. When Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) and his friends start messing with the multiverse and save the father of Pavitr Prabhakar’s girlfriend, they inadvertently prevent a canon event from going down. Only the prompt intervention of other Spider-People saves that universe from destruction, the results of a cannon event not happening.
On a heartbreaking reel featuring countless Uncle Ben deaths, Miguel O’Hara (Oscar Isaac) warns Miles that the boy’s father is destined to be killed by Spot (Jason Schwartzman), and preventing that death might lead to the dissolution of the whole Spider-Verse. Not accepting to be part of a predestined story, Miles takes it into his own hands to save his father’s life. Captain Morales’ fate will stay upended until 2024’s Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse as Miles ultimately ends up on Earth 42, where he clashes with his variant from that universe, who also happens to be the Prowler.
In addition to killing Peter Parker before making Miles his universe’s Spider-Man, 2018’s Into the Spider-Verse also featured the death of Uncle Aaron (Mahershala Ali), a pivotal moment in Miles’ life that made him aware of the price he has to pay for a superhero life.
