It has been more than a year since we’ve last heard updates regarding Netflix’s Reese Witherspoon-led romantic comedy film Your Place or Mine, and now the streamer has announced that Ashton Kutcher has officially signed on to star opposite Witherspoon. The project will be the latest collaboration between the 43-year-old actor and Netflix, who previously worked together on the sitcom The Ranch. This also marks Kutcher’s first comedy feature in ten years after starring in 2011’s romantic comedies No Strings Attached and New Year’s Eve.
The Oscar-winning actress will also be serving as a producer through her Hello Sunshine banner, which was recently acquired by a firm backed by private equity giant Blackstone Group. The acquisition deal reportedly costs around $900 million.

According to the official logline, “Your Place Or Mine will center around two long-distanced best friends who live on opposite coasts. When they decide to swap homes for a week, both of their lives will completely change.”
The romantic comedy film will be written and directed by The Devil Wears Prada scribe Aline Brosh McKenna in her directorial film debut.
The film will also be produced by Hello Sunshine’s Lauren Neustadter along with Aggregate Films’ Jason Bateman (Ozark) and Michael Costigan as part of their first-look deal with Netflix.
