The ACC is one the most competitive conference in women’s basketball this season. Five teams are ranked in the AP’s top 25, and it’s anyone’s guess who will hoist the tournament trophy in Greensboro.
After NC State’s three-year run, Virginia Tech won it all last year. The Hokies, led by Georgia Amoore and Liz Kitley, are poised to do it again, as they’re expected to clinch the No. 1 overall seed. This year, though, nothing’s for certain.
Syracuse is looking for its first tournament championship ever, and with Dyaisha Fair at the helm, it could finally come to fruition. The Orange are all but guaranteed to earn a top-four seed for the tournament, but what other two teams round it out is to be determined. With only a few games left, NC State, Notre Dame, Louisville and Florida State are in contention for the all-important tournament byes.
It’ll come down to the final regular season games on Sunday, March 3.
