A year on from Arsenal beating Spurs 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium, both teams are in a markedly different position as they prepare for the first north London derby of the 2022/23 season.
The neighbours had each lost three of their first six fixtures at that point. A game further on this time, Spurs remain unbeaten and the Gunners are top of the table, winning their sixth out of seven in style by beating Brentford 3-0 away on September 18.
Victory in the early kick-off on Matchday 8 would guarantee either side top spot, although a Spurs win would give reigning champions Manchester City the chance to overtake them with a win at home to Manchester United the following day.

Arsenal vs. Tottenham predicted lineups
As usual after an international break, both managers have fresh injury concerns. Defenders Kieran Tierney (concussion) and midfielder Thomas Partey (knee) are minor doubts after sustaining problems while playing for their countries but full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko and captain Martin Odegaard are expected to return.
Defender Cedric Soares is said to be out for at least a week with a knock picked up during a training session, while midfielders Mohamed Elneny and Reiss Nelson are both out with thigh problems.

Captain Hugo Lloris pulled out of international duty with France because of a thigh injury and defender Ben Davies was absent for Wales with a hairline fracture of a bone under his knee. Both are still thought to be in contention to play.
Spurs manager Antonio Conte has a decision to make over forward Son Heung-min, who scored a 14-minute hat-trick after coming off the bench against Leicester.
Son’s record against Arsenal is only bettered by Harry Kane among current Spurs players and the South Korea talisman scored the only goal of the game for his country against Cameroon in Seoul on Tuesday.
He could replace Richarlison, who scored for Brazil against Tunisia at the Parc des Princes on the same night.

Tottenham have won on one of their last 29 trips to Arsenal in the Premier League and have lost on their last two visits to the Emirates Stadium, so a draw – keeping Conte’s team firmly within striking distance of top spot – would be a positive result for the away side.
