The Bengals (5-6) and Jaguars (8-3) are set to face off in “Monday Night Football” as Jacksonville looks to stay on the right side of the win column and the Bengals aim to snap a three-game losing streak without star quarterback Joe Burrow.
Burrow is out for the season with a torn ligament in his right wrist. Backup quarterback Jake Browning will take the field once more in Burrow’s place.
The Jaguars have the advantage in multiple aspects here, including home field and having their starting quarterback in Trevor Lawrence on the field.
That much gives the Jaguars a notable edge offensively, and the the Bengals’ defenses has its problem areas. The team is among the lowliest in the NFL in rushing yards allowed and passing yards allowed per game.

But they have been stingy is points surrendered, allowing an average of just 22.0 points per game to opponents. The last time the Jaguars were held to under that total was four games ago in the 20-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

11:29 p.m.: Jacksonville’s first possession in overtime ends in a punt.

11:19 p.m.: Regulation expires and the contest will continue into overtime. Jacksonville will receive.
11:14 p.m.: McManus’ 40-yard field goal attempt is good, which could force an overtime in the ultimate battle of the backups with less than 30 seconds left.
11:10 p.m.: Etienne’s catch and run puts the Jags in field goal range within the final minutes of the game.
11:04 p.m.: Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence is announced to have suffered a severe ankle injury.
11:01 p.m.: Evan McPherson’s 54-yard field goal is good to put Cincinnati on top by three points. McPherson is 1-for-2 on the evening.
10:53 p.m.: Brandon McManus’ 48-yard field goal attempt is no good after Lawrence is helped off the field and taken to the locker room by trainers.

10:16 p.m.: The Jaguars capitalize on the Bengals’ critical mistake on the attempted trick play with a 4-yard touchdown run by Etienne as they retake the lead.
10:12 p.m.: What’s been a storybook night for Jake Browning, the Bengals try to get tricky on a play in which Browning throws the ball to Tyler Boyd and then Boyd’s pass to Mixon is intercepted by Allen. It pays not to get cute, sometimes. Jacksonville is set up within distance of the goal after the turnover.
10:07 p.m.: In what looked like was going to be an interception at first, the rookie wide receiver Parker Washington makes a catch you’ll have to see to believe to tie things up for Jacksonville. The sixth-round pick out of Penn State had no catches coming into tonight. He now has four and his first NFL touchdowns.
10:04 p.m.: The Jaguars are playing with a high sense of urgency as they look to gain the edge in what has been a back-and-forth game, despite the high odds stacked against the Bengals. Jacksonville is in scoring range at the Cincinnati 14.
09:52 p.m.: The Bengals get their first lead of the night as Browning connects with Ja’Marr Chase for a 76-yard touchdown deep to the left..
09:48 p.m.: The Jaguars get the ball to start the second half and the drive culminates in a 43-yard punt from Logan Cooke.

09:30 p.m.: The Jaguars and the Bengals remain tied at halftime in a close game as Browning continues to deliver. Browning is 17-of-19 passing for 178 yards at the half.
09:23 p.m.: Joe Mixon rushes up the middle for a 2-yard touchdown with just over one minute left in the second quarter.
09:18 p.m.: The Bengals currently total 208 offensive yards with two minutes to go in the half in a shootout hardly anyone saw coming between Jake Browning and Trevor Lawrence. The Bengals are making a stronger offensive case for themselves than some anticipated.
09:08 p.m.: Evan Engram gets his first touchdown of the season on a what some are saying may just be the longest jump record to ever get into the end zone. The score comes on a 17-yard pass from Lawrence to Engram.
09:05 p.m: Jacksonville’s Etienne carries it to the right for a gain of 11 yards to bring the team into Cincinnati territory at the Bengals’ 43.
