Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.
The Big Ten has had a number of solid teams over the years, from Frank Kaminsky’s Wisconsin to Trey Burke’s Michigan. Still, it has proved challenging for the conference, which prides itself on physical play and hulking paint presences, to loom large come March.
With that said, this may be a different Big Ten. Leading the way for the conference are heavy-hitters Purdue and Indiana, led by a pair of All-American talents in Zach Edey and Trayce Jackson-Davis.
They’re not the only ones. Between Jahmir Young, Kris Murray, Hunter Dickinson and a host of other talents, the league isn’t wonting for ability. And they’ll be able to give fans a glimpse into the action at the 2023 Big Ten tournament.
The Boilermakers and Hoosiers may be the standouts. But it’s a deep league, one that features a few teams with diverse attacks and stout defenses, characteristics that can take you a long way come March.
