Bills had to be extra motivated to deal Stefon Diggs

By | April 3, 2024

The Buffalo Bills made a massive trade on Wednesday by sending wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans. They sent a 2024 sixth round pick and a 2025 fifth round pick to the Texans with Diggs for the 42nd overall pick that the Texans acquired from the Minnesota Vikings. Talk about a small world.

They didn’t just trade Diggs to move on from the player, the Bills ended up making the expensive move by sending him to the Texans. It’s so expensive that it raises the question: were the Bills trying to get rid of Diggs?

It’s officially a $31,096,000 dead cap hit for 2024, an increase of $3,242,000 this year. It does free up $27,354,000 in salary cap space in 2025 which will be big for the Bills. It also signals that Diggs was as big of a problem in the building as it seemed he was with his Twitter posting.

Will he be an issue with the Texans like he ended up being with his two previous franchises? That could be the case, but only time will tell.
