With the college football season underway and the NFL season approaching in a few short days, experts and analysts are already compiling a list of potential mock drafts and are attempting to predict who goes where.
In a recent mock draft conducted by Bleacher Report, the Bleacher Report Scouting Department had Colorado Buffaloes’ star Travis Hunter staying put in the same state.
Last season, Hunter caught 57 passes for 721 yards and five touchdowns as a receiver. While slotted at the corner position, Hunter had 22 solo tackles and three interceptions. Hunter’s massive impact on both sides of the ball has led analysts to believe he will go first overall as of right now:
“At this juncture, there’s no reason for anyone to pigeonhole Hunter into a specific position. Cornerback has long been a premium position. Meanwhile, the value of a playmaking wide receiver has skyrocketed in recent years. His future NFL team can find packages for him to do both”.
While Hunter has only played one game so far in the 2024 season, Broncos fans should be excited about this idea. Either pairing him alongside Pat Surtain II as an elite cornerback tandem, catching passes from Bo Nix, or both, would make the Broncos an even better team.
However, this is a mock draft and this list will be updated throughout the season, so Broncos Country should not get their hopes up. But the thought of it sure makes for interesting theories.
