Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Brenton Strange suffered an injury in the massive Week 5 win over the Kansas City Chiefs that forced his early exit from the contest.
It isn’t clear when or how Strange suffered the injury, but he was noticeably absent in the second half of the Jags’ upset win over the reigning AFC champions.
On Tuesday, we received an injury update on Strange and it wasn’t what we wanted to hear. The good news is, he doesn’t have a season-ending injury.
Brenton Strange injury update
The team announced on Tuesday that Strange has been placed on injured reserve with a quadriceps injury, which means he’ll miss at least the next four games.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports that Strange is expected to miss about a month, so Strange’s quad injury isn’t season-ending.
“Source says Brenton Strange expected to miss about a month with a quad injury so not a season-ending injury for the #Jaguars’ tight end.
While it’s good to see that Strange will be back this season, this is still a tough pill to swallow.
Not only was Strange having a career year with 204 receiving yards through five games, he was also a key contributor in the Jaguars’ offense.
Johnny Mundt figures to take Strange’s place as the starter, and the team also has Quintin Morris and Hunter Long on the 53-man roster, and Patrick Herbert on the practice squad.
None of those players figure to have any fantasy relevance while Strange is sidelined.
