The Milwaukee Bucks have been very active in free agency so far.
The team made a splash by surprisingly signing former Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner after parting ways with Brook Lopez. In another shocking twist, the team has waived Damian Lillard, signalling a massive shift in the franchise.
In another bold move, the Bucks have also traded fan favourite Pat Connaughton to the Charlotte Hornets.
Now it seems that they have addressed their lack of depth in the backcourt, signing Gary Harris to a two-year contract, according to ESPN NBA Insider Shams Charania.
Harris, who spent the past four seasons with the Orlando Magic, where he had a limited role but remained steady, proved to be a reliable rotational player despite his modest numbers.
Last season, he averaged 3.0 points per game in 14.8 minutes per game. A career 37% shooting, Harris has garnered a reputation for being a 3-and-D wing showcasing his ability to shoot from deep.
Without Lillard, the Bucks will have another veteran presence off the bench capable of spreading the floor and guarding up-play defence.
It has been a busy offseason for the Bucks, who managed to re-sign Bobby Portis Jr., Kevin Porter Jr., Gary Payton II, and Taurean Prince. These moves reflect the teams intention of fielding a competitive roster around franchise cornerstone Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Last season, the Bucks finished with 48 wins and finished as the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference. However, they were eliminated in the first round by the Indiana Pacers.
It appears the front office is building the right personnel to compete in what could possibly be the final chapter of the Antetokounmpo era in Milwaukee.
