Time to watch Caitlin Clark play in a Hawkeye jersey is ticking down. It’s not over yet, though.
Iowa is focused on defending its Big Ten tournament title from last year, and it begins against Penn State. Unsurprisingly, Iowa is the favorite to win the matchup. It beat the Nittany Lions in the lone matchup this season in February, marking a historic night in Iowa City. Not for Caitlin Clark but for Hannah Stuelke who scored 47 points.
March is full of surprises though, as regular season champion Ohio State is out of the tournament after falling to eighth-seeded Maryland in the quarterfinals. Iowa’s road to another tournament title is looking a whole lot easier now.
Seventh-seeded Penn State will take on the two-seeded Hawkeyes with a semifinals appearance on the line.

7:17 p.m. – Clark finally gets her first field goal in with 4:49 left in the first half. It extends Iowa’s lead after a slow (or nonexistent) quarter to 33-19.
7:11 p.m. – Clark can’t find her touch. She’s 0-5 from the field, all of them from three. Iowa as a team has yet to score this quarter, too. Maybe the change in momentum Penn State needed, as it’s got six this frame.
7:03 p.m. – Penn State has a tough hill to climb the next three quarters. But what’s killing the Nittany Lions the most? Free throws, or lack of. Iowa’s scored 13 of its 31 points on free throws alone. Penn State hasn’t taken a single one yet.
End of first quarter: Iowa 31, Penn State 13
6:51 p.m. – Gabbie Marshall. Too clean.

6:00 p.m. – Talk about some loyal Hawkeyes. Iowa fans have been lined up since 9 a.m. for this game at the Target Center.
5:50 p.m. – It should come as a surprise than the Big Ten women’s basketball tournament is a sell-out. What might come as a shock is that it’s the first time ever for the conference. Just another side effect of Caitlin Clark’s historic season.
It’s not too late to snag a few tickets off StubHub for her upcoming games, both in the conference tournament and NCAA playoffs.
