Carmelo Anthony has announced his retirement from the NBA.
The No. 3 pick in the legendary 2003 NBA Draft, Anthony retires as the ninth-leading scorer in league history. He earned 10 All-Star selections and six All-NBA selections during his career, and he won a scoring title in the 2012-13 season when he averaged 28.7 points per game.
During the 2021-22 season, Anthony was one of 11 active players named to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team. He will almost certainly be a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
Here’s how the NBA world reacted to Anthony’s retirement announcement.
