Fans of the Boston Celtics are starting to get really upset with the rise of ticket prices once again. Ticket prices have increased over 40% for season ticket holders, making it too expensive for even the most diehard fans.
According to fans, prices for decent seats are around $247 dollars. That is just for seats, it does not include food, drinks, parking, or any other miscellaneous purchases. For nosebleeds, it was almost $100 dollars before taxes.
Fans blame this on the Celtics being the recent champions of the NBA, which leads to increased ticket prices because they are the champs. Celtics prices have also been notoriously high because they are the Celtics, one of the most iconic basketball franchises on the planet.
But, most fans agree this huge price hike comes from one thing in particular; contracts. The Celtics have shelled out over a BILLION dollars for just their starting lineup. They have multiple players with nine figure deals, but they are locked down for at least half a decade.
This is the price Celtics fans have to pay for a dynasty. Whoever the owners of the Celtics are, if it’s the current or whoever they sell to, need to keep this team together no matter what. But they need to help the fans too, even if it hurts their profits.
A lot of Celtics fans are upset about the prices of single game tickets.
