Clippers might emerge as buyers for Bulls guard, new report shows

The Chicago Bulls might find a trade suitor for their star guard in an unexpected place.

Los Angeles has been a city linked to the Bulls in recent trade rumors with the Lakers on the other end of the proposed deals.

While a Bulls-Lakers trade might still happen, don’t rule out the possibility that Chicago engages with LA’s other team in negotiations concerning two-time All-Star Zach LaVine.

The LA Clippers are already off to a frustrating start to the season with reports surfacing that Kawhi Leonard isn’t healthy (shockingly).

When will the Clippers move on from Leonard? Does LA’s brass think that a James Harden-Leonard duo has what it takes to move the needle in a ridiculously talented (and young) Western Conference?

The sooner the Clippers turn over a new leaf and enter a new era, the better. LA needs to get younger and more athletic. Do you know who’s younger and way more athletic than both Leonard and Harden? Zach LaVine.

While LaVine comes with a hefty contract, LA could benefit from his infusion of offense. Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey recently discussed the LaVine-to-Clippers possibility.

“With the Los Angeles Clippers opening a swanky new arena for 2024-25, an underwhelming campaign led by 35-year-old James Harden and oft-injured Kawhi Leonard might not be what Steve Ballmer is looking for,” Bailey said.

“But with those two and a good-to-solid supporting cast, that’s what the Clippers might get in the jam-packed Western Conference.”

“Zach LaVine wouldn’t necessarily guarantee a different outcome, but a consistent 20-point-per-game scorer could go a long way toward filling the gaps on nights when Leonard is unavailable or Harden looks a bit slower than he did in his prime.”

The Clippers need to go in a new direction, and soon. LaVine would be a nice way to mix up the roster while acquiring elite, prime-aged talent.
