The College Football Playoff chase is sure to heat up in October.
Heading into Week 6, our College Football Playoff picks have not changed, but we switched the matchups.
We have No. 1 Alabama meeting No. 5 Clemson in the CFP semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, and that means No. 2 Georgia and No. 3 Ohio State would be in the other semifinal in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl. Why is this significant? If the SEC gets two teams, then the conference champion is going to want that semifinal in Atlanta. Granted, Clemson would not be affected that much, but it is something to watch as long as the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs stay unbeaten.

No. 4 Michigan and No. 6 USC are the next two teams, and we have them in the Rose Bowl. No. 7 Oklahoma State jumps into our New Year’s Day projections after beating Baylor 36-25 in Week 5.
The College Football Playoff semifinals will be on Dec. 31 this season. Those semifinals will be played at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta and the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz. The College Football Playoff championship game is on Jan. 9 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.
