Colorado players reportedly have jewelry stolen from locker room during loss to UCLA: ‘That joint messed up’

Deion Sanders’ Colorado suffered a bit of double jeopardy during its loss to No. 23 UCLA on Saturday.

At least five Buffaloes players were reported to have had jewelry and other personal items taken from their lockers during the game. It is believed that the burglars made away with the goods while the game was ongoing.

One of the players who appeared to have an item taken, safety Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig, took to social media to express his outrage over the heist.

Deion Sanders Jr. captured the aftermath of the robbery on his YouTube channel, “Well Off Media.” In the video, Deion Jr. interviews several of the players who are believed to have had their items snatched. Each player showed varying levels of confusion and frustration at the purported theft. It is believed the burglars made away with thousands of dollars worth of merchandise.

“You’re gonna play football and know your s— safe,” Silmon-Craig said. “That joint messed up.”

It’s not the first time a Sanders-coached side has had to deal with a swiping. In Feb. 2021, Sanders — then the coach of Jackson State — told reporters that his personal belongings were taken from the locker room. They eventually were recovered with the help of one of Sanders’ assistants

UCLA police are investigating the theft, according to reports. The Buffaloes, meanwhile, returned to Boulder on Sunday morning. They will host No. 16 Oregon State next week as they look to regain their rhythm and make a late pursuit for a bowl game.
