Indianapolis Colts fans will be holding their breath over summer break after Anthony Richardson dealt with some shoulder soreness to end the offseason workout program.
While just about everyone from Richardson to head coach Shane Steichen downplayed the severity of the issue, Colts fans remember all too well what it’s like for a franchise quarterback to deal with a shoulder problem.
But they should feel a bit encouraged by a recent social media post from franchise legend and current wide receivers coach Reggie Wayne.

In response to Nate Washington, former Tennessee Titans wideout, Wayne offered some optimistic views on Richardson’s injury status going into the break.

Both Steichen and Richardson didn’t express any concern about the fact that the latter was held out of the final two days of minicamp after dealing with some soreness in his surgically repaired throwing shoulder.
“Rest assured if we played on Sunday he’d be starting. He just had some soreness in his arm, so for precautionary reasons we just held him out today,” Steichen told the media last week.
Richardson echoed that same mindset and even said the training staff was surprised the soreness hadn’t popped up until now.
“Oh yeah, we’re actually surprised there’s only been one day like this. Everything’s been smooth sailing so far and luckily, it was the last day. So, we’re not too worried about it and we’re just trying to keep it going,” Richardson said.
It’s still something to keep an eye on, but it certainly seems there’s little to worry about until we get a further update later in the offseason.
