It’s been another relatively quiet offseason for the Dallas Cowboys. This offseason has already gone better than last year, but that isn’t saying much after the lack of moves the Cowboys made in 2024.
The Cowboys are in a position where they should be looking to add at nearly every position. If a talented player is available who they like, signing that player would be the best decision.
Dallas has already made it known that it plans to be smart in free agency, which is fair. However, if the Cowboys want to eventually start competing with some of the top teams in the NFL again, more needs to be done.
There are a few options for them to improve their offense, including Teven Jenkins, a guard who was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Bill Barnwell of ESPN believes he could be a great addition, linking the Cowboys to the 27-year-old.
“Offensive coordinators are desperate for competent offensive linemen, and Jenkins ranked 33rd in pass block win rate and 44th in run block win rate among guards last season. He stayed healthy for a career-high 14 games and committed only four penalties. At 27, he will be in the prime of his career over the next few years, and there are going to be teams that believe the 6-foot-6 lineman will benefit from getting out of Chicago and away from a dysfunctional offense,” Barnwell wrote.
The Cowboys run game was non-existent last season, and while there were multiple factors in that, adding Jenkins could help improve one of the more important areas of the offense.
It’s needed if they want to win.
