Cowboys vs. Giants live score, updates, highlights from NFL ‘Sunday Night Football’ game

By | September 10, 2023

The Giants enjoyed a resurgent season under Brian Daboll in 2022, but they still couldn’t get over the hump against the Cowboys.

Even when Cooper Rush started in place of Dak Prescott at MetLife Stadium, New York still couldn’t figure out how to take out its NFC East rival. Sunday night’s season opener will be the first indicator of whether the Giants are ready to make that leap.

The Cowboys enter 2023 with high expectations after a divisional-round exit last season, and in a conference lacking the depth that the AFC has, there aren’t many excuses for Dallas’ NFC championship game drought to continue. With Prescott healthy, Brandin Cooks joining his receiving corps, and Dan Quinn still coordinating a talented defense, this has the feel of a make-or-break year for the current Cowboys regime.

A win over the Giants wouldn’t necessarily prove Dallas is ready to take that next step, but it would knock off one key divisional game on the road.
