What do football players and colon cancer awareness have in common? A lot of talking s—.
That’s the message Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is hoping to get across in his latest commercial appearance.
The Dallas franchise QB has starred in a number of advertisements through his partnerships and endorsements with DirecTV, Bud Light and other brands. But his latest with the Colorectal Cancer Alliance’s Lead From Behind campaign takes the cake.

Here is more insight on Prescott’s commercial on colon cancer awareness:
Dak Prescott colon cancer commercial
Last week, actor Ryan Reynolds revealed a commercial for the Colorectal Cancer Alliance’s Lead From Behind campaign, starring Prescott. The purpose of the ad is to encourage people to get screened for colon cancer using a Cologuard at-home kit.
So where does Prescott come in? Well, the thought behind it is that Prescott takes a lot of s— as the quarterback for the Cowboys, making him somewhat of an expert on the matter.
“As a professional quarterback, I get a lot of s—,” Prescott said. “And I get it, when you’re not a fan of something, s—ing on it can make you feel good. But what if I told you that now, it can do some good, too?”
Prescott proceeds to explain the Cologuard kit and how it works. Going through how to collect a stool sample is no entertaining matter, but Prescott does it in a way that connects with football fans.

As the quarterback outlines how to use the kit, he takes shots a number of NFL teams. Prescott states that the user can slap on a sticker of their choosing on the bottom of the kit, something they “something you want to s— on.” It’s no coincidence that the stickers Prescott uses are one of a dolphin (no explanation needed) and one of an old-timey prospector (referencing the 49ers).
A number of other stickers pop up on the screen as potential options, and all have ties to the NFL. Among the icons are a bear, a cardinal, a lion, a raven, a ram, a Viking, a jet and a eagle, but the cream of the crop just might be a picture of an NFL official.
Prescott has a personal tie to the cause. His mother, Peggy, died in 2013 after a battle with colon cancer. The commercial is the quarterback’s way of spreading awareness for a disease that hits him close to home, while adding some self-deprecating humor.
