Drivers are ready to determine their position for the Daytona 500 — one of the greatest race weekends of the year.
Racers will take part in the Daytona Duels, a three-part event which sees drivers battle it out with one another to figure out who gets the more advantageous of starting positions in The Great American Race on Sunday, Feb. 18.
Qualifying for pole sitting will take place on Wednesday. Then, it will be followed up by Daytona Duels, a twin 150-lap sprint to determine the order of the starting lineup behind the two fastest cars from Wednesday’s qualifiers.
It’s the preamble to one of stock car’s most famous races. Here’s what you need to know about it:
Daytona Duels 2024 start times
- Duel 1: Thursday, 7 p.m. ET
- Duel 2: Thursday, 8:45 p.m. ET (approx.)
Duel 1 will consist of odd-number finishers (third, fifth, seventh, etc.) from time trials. Conversely, Duel 2 will feature the trial’s even-numbered participants (fourth, sixth, eighth, etc.)

FS1 will handle the coverage for Thursday’s races. Fox’s 2024 NASCAR Cup Series broadcast team includes Mike Joy, Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer.

Daytona 500 tickets 2024
There are multiple ticket options available for the Daytona 500 via StubHub.
Fans can buy single-day tickets to qualifying and the main races through the week. There are also four-day packages that grant admission Thursday through Sunday, from the Duels through the Daytona 500, and two-day packages for Saturday and Sunday that encompass the Xfinity Series and ARCA races in addition to the main event.
