Deebo Samuel’s contract may be a family matter.
The 49ers receiver is one of many star wideouts looking for a big-money deal this offseason, and he is playing some of the hits regarding dissatisfaction with his situation. He’s scrubbed his Instagram account of any “San Francisco” mentions. Next have come leaks from within the Samuel camp.
In a recent Facebook post interaction, Samuel’s brother, Tyquan, made it apparent that an official trade request may be in the works soon.
The full exchange:
Facebook user: “Trade him”
Tyquan Samuel: “don’t worry we asking for a trade” (two laughing-crying emojis added for emphasis).

To be fair, it’s unclear how serious Tyquan Samuel is or how deeply embedded he is, but as the saying goes, where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
Davante Adams was the first to find a new home โ and a new contract โ this offseason, setting fire to the wide receiver market. Tyreek Hill later took his talents to South Beach. The Titans’ A.J. Brown, the Seahawks’ D.K. Metcalf and Samuel each wait for their new contracts. Brown has delivered several cryptic tweets, presumably about his situation with the Titans, while Metcalf and the Seahawks have had no real movement recently.
Recent reports also say that the 49ers are willing to move on from any of their players for the right price. With Samuel and the 49ers seemingly stalled in contract talks, maybe Samuel’s days in the Bay are numbered.
Let’s keep an eye on Tyquan’s Facebook for more details.
