Did Aaron Rodgers just drop a clue about free agent decision?

By | March 12, 2025

Aaron Rodgers’ free agency decision is one of the biggest storylines of the offseason, as the future Hall of Famer has yet to agree to a deal with a team and is the top quarterback still left on the market. The former first-round pick was officially released by the Jets on Wednesday

Rodgers’ options are dwindling, and it seems the favorite to land the ten-time Pro Bowl quarterback is the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team lost Justin Fields to the Jets on Monday and Russell Wilson is still on the free agency market. According to Connor Hughes of SNY, most league sources he spoke to believe Rodgers will eventually land in Pittsburgh. However, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport stated that the veteran is choosing between the Steelers and New York Giants.

Pittsburgh signing the 41-year-old signal-caller seems to be a legitimate possibility, and based on a recent social media post from fashion designer John Geiger, Rodgers may already be gearing up for a move to the Steelers.

Geiger, who partners with New Era and Lids to create unique Major League Baseball Hats ahead of opening day, tweeted on Wednesday that Rodgers had requested a Pittsburgh Pirates hat from the new collection.

“Aaron Rodgers Just Asked For The Pirates “Misplaced Series” Hat So,” Geiger tweeted on Wednesday.

Obviously, Rodgers wanting a Pirates hat could be completely unrelated to his pending free-agent decision. However, it’s something that can’t be ignored, especially with the reports circulating about the Steelers’ interest in the four-time NFL MVP.

We’ll see if Rodgers ends up choosing Pittsburgh as his next move, as his decision will have massive implications for the rest of the offseason and the Steelers 2025 season.
