Dolphins vs. Rams live score, updates, highlights from NFL ‘Monday Night Football’ game

By | November 11, 2024

Week 10 of the 2024 NFL season will wrap with the Miami Dolphins flying coast-to-coast and taking on the Los Angeles Rams for ‘Monday Night Football.’ The Dolphins have lost three in a row and will have to deal with the surging Rams and their three-game winning streak.

Miami’s season was derailed early when quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered his latest concussion in Week 2. He missed the Dolphins’ next four games as the team rolled out Skylar Thompson and Tyler Huntley as its quarterbacks. Neither were really able to come close to replicating the impact that Tagovailoa has when he’s healthy.

The concern for Miami, though, is that in its current three-game losing streak, Tagovailoa was under center for two of them. The Dolphins lost to the Arizona Cardinals by a point in Week 8 and then by three to the Buffalo Bills last week. Miami is 2-6 and in third place in the AFC East heading into this game.

Los Angeles began the season with back-to-back losses. The first was in overtime to the Detroit Lions, but the second was a 31-point loss to the Cardinals. The Rams then beat the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3 before losing to the Chicago Bears. The results for LA have been all over the place, but they are finally putting it all together.

The Rams have Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua healthy and look ready to make another second-half run to the playoffs. Los Angeles started the season 1-4 but is now 4-4 and sitting in second place in the NFC West. A big win over the Dolphins would help the Rams sustain their momentum, but they can’t afford to look past Miami despite its slow start to the season.

Tagovailoa was nearly picked off on first down trying to hit Washington. Miami took its second timeout of the half.

SCORE — FIELD GOAL! Dolphins 17, Rams 9

10:20 p.m. — Karty lined up for a 53-yard field goal. No false starts this time, and he nails it.

End of Third Quarter — Dolphins 17, Rams 6

10:10 p.m. — Stafford got hit while throwing, and the pass falls short of Nacua. The QB then hits Kupp for a five yard gain. Stafford hits the veteran receiver again, this time for 17 yards.

The Rams QB then launched the ball down the right side of the field, but it sailed out of bounds, over Nacua. Stafford checked it down to Tyler Johnson for a 10-yard gain and a first down. Williams ran up the middle for four yards. Stafford then found Nacua for a 12-yard pickup.

Williams then ran left for five yards on first down. The running back got another carry, but lost two yards on it. The third quarter ends with Stafford getting sacked for a 12-yard loss.

SCORE — TOUCHDOWN! Dolphins 17, Rams 6

10:00 p.m. — Achane takes a carry up the middle, but only gets two yards. Tagovailoa then hits Smith for a 10-yard gain and first down. Achane then picked up one, before Tagovailoa hit tight end Durham Smythe for a six yard gain. The Miami QB continued to lean on his tight ends, hitting Smith for a 33-yard gain and he took it down to the one-yard line after some horrible tackle attempts from the Rams defense.

Miami took its first timeout of the half. Tagovailoa fakes it to Achane and then hits Hill for the one-yard touchdown reception.

9:50 p.m. — On the first play of the second half, Williams ran left for a nine-yard gain. Williams then picked up three yards on the next play, earning a fresh set of downs. Stafford connects with Nacua for 17 yards. Williams picked up nine on a run to the right.

Williams picked up another first down with a five yard gain. The next snap was high and goes off of Stafford’s hands. He recovers it, but loses four yards in the process. Williams picked up two on the next play and then facing third and 21, Stafford found Nacua for a five-yard gain.

Have you ever seen a false start on a field goal? I now have as Los Angeles jumped early. It made a difference as Karty was then moved back to a 57-yard attempt and missed it wide right.

End of First Half — Dolphins 10, Rams 6

SCORE — FIELD GOAL! Dolphins 10 Rams 6

9:30 p.m. — Stafford gets sacked and loses the ball, but is able to recover it. The Rams are forced to use their last timeout with 19 seconds left in the first half.

Stafford hits Nacua for a 16-yard gain and then hurries to the line to spike it. Karty set up for a 55-yard field goal and nailed it, sending us to halftime.

9:25 p.m. — Williams ran up the middle for a nine-yard gain, which brought up the two-minute warning. After the break, Williams picked up a first down with a two-yard gain. Stafford then hit Nacua for a nine-yard pickup. He followed it up with a four-yard pass to Allen for a first down.

Stafford then checked down to Williams over the middle for an 11-yard gain. Stafford threw deep for Demarcus Robinson, but missed him. Los Angeles has two timeouts left this half. After the incompletion, Stafford dinked it down to Williams for a 12-yard gain. The Rams take their second timeout of the half.

9:20 p.m. — Hill had a end around that he took for a six-yard gain. Achane picked up a first down with a six-yard carry. Tagovailoa hit Hill on the right for a five-yard gain. The QB was then sacked for a 15-yard loss. Tagovailoa threw a screen pass to Achane and he picked up eight yards. Miami will punt.

SCORE — FIELD GOAL! — Dolphins 10, Rams 3

9:15 p.m. — Stafford hits Kupp for a 14-yard gain. Williams goes up the middle for three yards and for the first time tonight, Los Angeles is in the redzone. Nacua is able to bring in his next target for three yards. Stafford looked to the left for Allen, but missed him on third down.

Joshua Karty made a 34-yard field goal to put LA on the board.

9:13 p.m. — Stafford went with play action, but while it looked like Nacua had the reception, it was ruled incomplete. Los Angeles takes its first timeout of the half.

9:10 p.m. — After the fumble recovery, Tagovailoa hits Hill to the left for a 12-yard gain. Wright gets a carry, but is dropped in the backfield for a loss of three. On second down, Tagovailoa threw a screen to Achane, but he wasn’t able to gain any ground.

On third down, Tagovailoa was sacked by Jared Verse. He fumbled and Verse was able to recover it.

9:07 p.m. — Williams got the first carry of the Rams drive and promptly fumbles. It looked like the play was dead, but there were no whistles and the Dolphins recovered the ball. Williams looked like he was slightly losing the ball, but it was dislodged when he was on the ground. It was reviewed, but confirmed a fumble.

9:05 p.m. — Miami’s first down went nowhere as Achane got a carry and was instantly brought down for a loss of five. Tagovailoa was rolling out and looked like he forced a pass down the field. It was picked off by Christian Rozeboom.

There was a flag on the play, but it was an illegal blindside block against LA. The Rams take over with great field position.

9:00 p.m. — On first down, Stafford finds Cooper Kupp for a six-yard gain. Stafford then hits Nacua for five yards and a first down. Stafford keeps airing it out, but this time on a checkdown to William for one yard. The QB then hits Kupp for two yards. On third and long, Stafford was sacked for a five yard loss.

Despite some life and a first down, the Rams will punt again.

SCORE — FIELD GOAL! Dolphins 10, Rams 0

8:55 p.m. — Tagovailoa tosses to Wright on the right side and he picked up six yards to force third and short. Tagovailoa finds Waddle down the right side of the field, but the wide receiver couldn’t come down with it. Jason Sanders punched through a 50-yard field goal.

End of the first quarter — Dolphins 7, Rams 0

8:50 p.m. — Tagovailoa tossed it left to Achane and he picked up 15 yards. He got the next carry and picked up two yards and took us to the end of the first quarter.

8:45 p.m. — Stafford avoided pressure on first down and found Tutu Atwell near the right sideline for a gain of six yards on first down. The quarterback then checked down to rookie running back Blake Corum on second down. Corum picked up seven yards and the Rams’ first first down of the night. Yet another tipped pass on third down, but this one was intercepted by Anthony Walker Jr. Miami takes over with great field position.

Corum got a carry and took it up the middle for five yards. The rookie got his third consecutive touch, but LA was flagged for an illegal formation, and loses five yards. On second and 10, Corum still got the carry and picked up three yards to bring up third down.

8:40 p.m. — After the punt, Miami’s Achane picked up four yards. Tagovailoa tossed to Achane on second down, but the defense was all over it and he didn’t gain a yard. On third down, Tagovailoa hit Raheem Mostert for a nine-yard gain. We have a first down folks. The first one for either team since the score on the Dolphins’ opening drive.

Third string running back Jaylen Wright ran to the left, but lost three yards. Tagovailoa connected with former Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. for a six yard pickup. Facing third and eight, Taogvailoa tried to find Mostert, but his pass was tipped at the line. Miami avoided a three-and-out, but is punting nonetheless.

8:35 p.m. — Los Angeles started its drive on their 49-yard line. During the Dolphins’ punt, a player ran out of bounds and didn’t immediately establish himself back in play so was charged with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, giving the Rams 15 extra yards.

Williams got another rush and picked up one yard on first down. Stafford then missed Puka Nacua on a short pass to the right that was tipped at the line. Another third and long for the Rams and Stafford was sacked for a 10-yard loss.

Second straight three-and-out for Los Angeles and third straight in the game.

8:30 p.m. — When Miami got the ball after the punt, Tagovailoa missed Waddle to the left side of the field on first down. He then sailed a pass over tight end Jonnu Smith.

The Dolphins had their second third and long of the night. Tagovailoa avoided pressure, but wasn’t able to connect with wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Miami responds to LA’s three-and-out with one of their own.

8:25 p.m. — Los Angeles’ first play was a play action pass to Kyren Williams, but he lost 10 yards on the play. Williams got his first carry of the game on the next play and gained six yards. On third and long, quarterback Matthew Stafford checked down to tight end Davis Allen for a gain of 11 yards.

It was a very quick three-and-out for the Rams.

SCORE — TOUCHDOWN! — Dolphins 7, Rams 6

8:20 p.m. — The Dolphins first play of the game is a pass to Jaylen Waddle over the middle for a gain of 18 yards. Tua Tagovailoa throws a swing pass to De’Von Achane, but loses five yards. Miami goes with a screen to Achane to the right, but only picked up two yards.

On the next play, wide receiver Malik Washington took an end around run 18 yards for the score.

8:15 p.m. — The Rams have won the toss and deferred. Miami will start with the ball.
