Eagles looking like a good Week 2 Survivor Pool pick as favorites lose

By | September 15, 2024

Survivor pool survivors, unite around these Philadelphia Eagles.

As everyone knows, the rules are simple – pick one NFL team each week to win and survive to play another week. And generally, you can’t pick the same team more than once, but you can pick whoever the Panthers face every week.

But if you have the Eagles this week, as they prepare for the Atlanta Falcons Monday night, you might be in some elite company – a survivor pool player with a future.

That’s because early Sunday games saw the Raiders beat the Ravens, 26-23, the Bucs beat the Lions, 26-20, and Saints beat the Cowboys, 44-19. The Ravens, at 30% were the most popular pick for this week, according to Survivor Grid, which tracks weekly selections. Dallas and Detroit were also home favorites getting takers.

And the announcers know just how fans feel.

Other popular Week 2 picks yet to play out as of this writing are the Chargers, who visit Carolina, and the Texans, who host the Bears.

Survivor Grid lists the Eagles chosen at nearly 7 percent of survivor pool players. As 5 ½-point favorites, they were listed as an excellent choice with an expected value of 1.04.

Things were hard enough last week when the Bengals lost at home to New England, bouncing nearly half the estimated entries all over.

And, if you’re out already, there’s always next year.
