Emanuel Navarrete vs. Oscar Valdez full card results, schedule for 2023 boxing fight

By | August 12, 2023

Emanuel Navarrete will put his WBO super featherweight title on the line against Oscar Valdez at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, on August 12.

Navarrete (37-1, 31 KOs) is a three-division world champion who started his titleholding journey when he defeated Isaac Dogboe for the WBO junior featherweight crown in 2018 and carried it through five defenses. “Cowboy” then moved up to defeat Ruben Villa for the vacant WBO featherweight title and made three successful defenses. In his most recent outing, in February, Navarrete captured the vacant WBO junior lightweight title by stopping Liam Wilson in nine rounds.

Valdez (31-1, 23 KOs) will likely be his toughest test to date.

Valdez is a two-time Olympian and former two-division world champion who held the WBO featherweight title from 2016 to 2019 and the WBC super featherweight title in 2021. His most notable victory came via vicious knockout of Miguel Berchelt in 2021 and had him closing in on boxing’s fictional pound-for-pound list until he suffered the first loss of his career to Shakur Stevenson last year.

It’s almost certain that this fight will turn into a war and could sneak into the “Fight of the Year” conversation when it’s all said and done.

The Sporting News will provide results for Emanuel Navarrete vs. Oscar Valdez and the entire fight card. Stay tuned!
