Atlanta Falcons right tackle Kaleb McGary left Wednesday’s practice after suffering what appeared to be a leg injury. Trainers quickly came to his aid before he was taken off the field on a cart.
Atlanta’s offensive line faces early-season trouble
The team has not shared official details yet, but McGary is undergoing an MRI to determine the severity. Observers noted that he was favoring his left leg as he exited toward the facility with help from staff.
The incident occurred just before full team drills began, leaving the Falcons to shuffle their offensive line. Elijah Wilkinson filled in at right tackle after McGary’s departure.
McGary, now 30, is entering his seventh season as a starter for Atlanta. With left-handed rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. under center, his position carries even more weight as the primary blindside protector. The veteran recently signed a two-year, $30 million extension earlier this month, solidifying his role as one of the team’s most important linemen.

Depth is already an issue. Swing tackle Storm Norton has been sidelined with a lower-body injury, making the loss of McGary even more concerning.
