Though they don’t have Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever are on the brink of the WNBA Finals.
Behind the superstar efforts of Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston, the short-handed Fever shocked the league by forcing a decisive Game 5 against the Las Vegas Aces. The winner-take-all game is a dramatic conclusion to the WNBA semifinals, pitting the underdog Fever against the 2022 and 2023 WNBA champion Aces.
The Aces are anchored by the 2025 MVP, A’ja Wilson, who led her team on a franchise-record 16-game winning streak to end the season. Wilson averaged 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. In a Game 4 loss, Wilson put up 31 points and nine rebounds. She is joined by Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young, who combined for 30 points and 18 assists.
On the other side, the Fever might be without the superstar Clark and Sophie Cunningham, but that has not stopped them from pushing Las Vegas to a final game. Boston put up a spectacular effort in Game 4 with 24 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. The matchup between her and fellow-Gamecock Wilson has been fun to watch.
There’s sure to be fireworks on Tuesday night in Las Vegas, and one team is going to punch their ticket to the WNBA Finals. Will it be the Aces for the third time in four seasons, or will it be the Fever without their star?
