Always one to put on a show while collecting a big paycheck, Floyd Mayweather is ready to compete in another exhibition bout. The Hall of Famer faces off against John Gotti III on June 11.
Gotti, an MMA fighter, is the grandson of former gangster John Gotti. The fight takes place at the FLA Live Arena and airs on the Zeus Network.
Turning pro in 1996, Mayweather has won titles in five divisions. A perfect 50-0, “Money” initially retired in 2015 after beating Andre Berto. Returning in 2017, Mayweather defeated MMA star Conor McGregor via TKO.
Since then, Mayweather has competed in numerous exhibition bouts. In 2018 he teamed with RIZIN and beat young kickboxing star Tenshin Nasukawa via TKO. Mayweather has also fought Logan Paul and former training partner Don Moore in non-scored bouts. He teamed up with RIZIN again in 2022 and defeated Mikuru Asakura and YouTuber Deji via TKO.

In February, Mayweather went the distance against MMA fighter Aaron Chalmers. Now, the man with one of the richest names in sports is ready to entertain fans once again.
“I’m all about bringing the biggest and best events to the people, and Sunday, June 11 is going to be like nothing else you’ve seen in the sports and entertainment world,” said Mayweather. “This is all about combining the entertainment of top-flight musical performances with top-flight skills in the ring. I love the fans in South Florida, and I know they’re going to appreciate this premier event we’re going to bring to them.”
Gotti turned pro in 2017. Winning five in a row to start his MMA career, he lost his last fight in 2020 against Nick Alley. The 30-year-old has since competed in boxing bouts, winning two contests. His last fight was in January when he beat Alex Citrowske via KO.
“I grew up idolizing Floyd, and I’m honored to have this chance to step into the ring against him,” said Gotti. “He’s one of the greatest boxers of all time, and he’s the reason I got into the fight game. But on June 11, I’m gonna punish him.”
