The day has finally come when the YouTuber-turned-boxer faces off against the once-best-pound-for-pound boxer in an exhibition bout.
Logan Paul, the 26-year-old who became prominent on YouTube, is set to step into the ring against the Floyd Mayweather Jr., the undefeated fighter who last fought in a New Year’s Eve exhibition fight in 2018 against Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa.
Mayweather has never lost a fight, having retired with a 50-0 record and 27 knockouts. Not counting the exhibition, the last time he had a fight was in 2017 when he defeated MMA star Conor McGregor in the 10th round by TKO. Before that? Well, it was in September 2015 when he won by unanimous decision against Andre Berto.
Paul has picked up some fighting experience, having faced off against another YouTuber, KSI, in a 2018 exhibition that ended in a majority draw before losing to him in a six-round split decision in November 2019.
Certainly, there will be an experience and size gap between the two opponents. Mayweather has a case for the most accomplished boxer of all time. Paul has four inches and nearly 40 pounds in a size advantage.
