Fox’s Terry Bradshaw slammed for ‘waddle over here’ comment to Andy Reid after Chiefs’ Super Bowl win

One of the constants of a Fox Super Bowl is that Terry Bradshaw handles the trophy presentation. After Super Bowl 57, however, some were wondering why that has to be a constant.

Bradshaw sounded less than respectful to Chiefs coach Andy Reid, who has now led the team to two Super Bowl titles in four years after Kansas City’s 38-35 victory over the Eagles. The Fox personality called Reid to the microphone in an extremely informal way.

“Big guy. Let me get the big guy in here,” Bradshaw said on stage. “Cone mon, waddle over here, heh heh.”

The moment isn’t less awkward in video form.

Bradshaw also tried to coax Reid into a very dramatic retirement announcement. “I know you’re getting up there in years now like me, and I just know that there’s got to be a time that with all these Super Bowls, you’ve got to say to yourself, ‘Time to ride off into the sunset.’ That’s not going to happen (now), is it?”

Twitter users were not very happy with how Bradshaw addressed Reid.

At the end of the interview, Bradshaw doubled down, telling Reid to “have a cheeseburger on us.”

Bradshaw has hosted every Super Bowl presentation on Fox save for one since Fox’s first Super Bowl broadcast in 1997. The only exception came in 2014, when Bradhaw’s father died and Bradshaw had to leave New York the weekend of the Super Bowl. Michael Strahan took over that night.

It appears NFL fans have had about enough of Bradshaw on stage. Although Reid himself has always had good humor about himself and his love of food, seeing that kind of flippant summoning and tactless baiting, followed by that sendoff, was more than a lot of NFL fans could handle.
