The Cowboys were a popular Super Bowl pick before the 2021 NFL season, but they couldn’t even win the beyond-lackluster NFC East. Part of that was due to Dak Prescott’s season-ending leg injury, but it also didn’t help that the Cowboys had one of the worst defenses in the NFL.
Last year, the Cowboys allowed 386.4 yards per game, a bottom-10 mark in the NFL, and allowed 29.6 points per game, a bottom-five mark in the league. The Cowboys badly need to keep adding talent on that side of the ball and they will likely spend a majority of the 2021 NFL Draft doing that after retaining some offensive continuity via a long-term deal with Prescott this offseason.
Of course, the team does still need to upgrade some spots on offense. While the Cowboys could be a playoff team if these holes are filled, they are going to have to hit on quite a few picks to make any sort of postseason noise. They do have 10 at their disposal, so they should be able to find some upgrades this offseason.

Giants NFL Draft needs
- Edge rusher: The Giants added Ryan Anderson and Ifeadi Odenigbo in free agency, but they need a true No. 1 pass rusher. They’ve lacked one for some time. Jaelan Phillips and Gregory Rousseau could be in play with their first-round pick.
- Offensive line: Andrew Thomas, Matt Peart, and Nate Solder should make for a solid tackle tandem, provided that Thomas can progress after a disappointing rookie year. However, the team needs help on the interior offensive line after cutting Kevin Zeitler. They added Zach Fulton, but the team still needs another lineman to challenge him and potentially challenge center Nick Gates for playing time.
- Linebacker: Blake Martinez played well in the middle of the field for the Giants last year and recorded a whopping 151 tackles. If the team can find a better complement to him, the middle of their defense will be extremely strong.
- Wide receiver: Newly-signed Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton should be a nice one-two punch, but can either Sterling Shepard or John Ross lock down the No. 3 receiver spot? Both have been oft-injured during their careers, so adding some extra depth and another weapon for Daniel Jones may behoove the G-Men.
- Defensive tackle: Dalvin Tomlinson left in free agency to join the Vikings. The Giants signed Danny Shelton to help replace him, but adding a young run-stuffing nose tackle wouldn’t be a bad move.
