Only a couple of games separate the top five teams in the Horizon League this year, meaning the fight for the conference championship and an automatic NCAA tournament bid will be even tougher in 2024.
Northern Kentucky won the Horizon a year ago for its fourth title in school history. The Norse will have some stiff competition if they want to defend their championship with Oakland, Youngstown, Green Bay, Wright State and Milwaukee all playing quality basketball this season.
There are some quality shooters across the conference who could put on a show. Detroit Mercy’s Jayden Stone and Cleveland State’s Tristan Enaruna both average more than 20 points per game.
Green Bay’s Noah Reynolds, Wright State’s Trey Calvin and Northern Kentucky’s Marques Warrick all average almost 20 points per game as well.
The teams to watch from behind the arc are Wright State, Purdue Fort Wayne and Oakland – both shoot at least 35% from 3-point range. Youngstown State is the best rebounding team in the conference, led by former Murray State forward D.J. Burns.

Horizon League basketball tournament schedule 2024
The 2024 Horizon League Tournament will last an entire week from Tuesday, March 5 to Tuesday, March 12.
Each first-round and the quarterfinal round game will be played at the home arena of the higher seed. The semifinals and the championship game will be played at Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis.

The 2024 Horizon League Tournament games will air live on ESPN+, ESPNU and ESPN 2. The first two rounds will be on ESPN+, while one semifinal game will be on ESPNU and the later semifinal game will be on ESPN2. The Horizon League championship game will air on ESPN2.
