‘I know right from wrong’: WWE legend hints at future in politics

By | June 15, 2024

The American political landscape is no stranger to entertainers. The decade of the 1980s saw Western movie actor Ronald Reagan rise to prominence, first as the governor of California before becoming a two-term president of the United States. Donald Trump translated his real estate and casino career into the hit show ‘The Apprentice’ and then rolled that into a one-term presidency followed by two additional runs to return to the White House, including his ongoing 2024 campaign.

So it’s no wonder that perhaps an even more well-known entertainer, the Hulkster himself Hulk Hogan, is considering entering the political arena. On a recent appearance on Fox and Friends, Hogan, whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea, spoke on numerous topics from recently being baptized to pitching his new product, Real American Beer. In speaking about the “crazy open lane” in the industry, he spoke to how Americans are much more alike than different, and that “things are so much bigger than politics.”

Hogan was asked before the interview concluded, “Yes or no, run for office?” and he leg-dropped the reply.

“Well you know something, we need somebody in there that’s got some common sense, you know what I’m saying?”

“I’ll volunteer and take this country over. I’ll rule with an iron fist, a flat tax, nothing but common sense. I know right from wrong, brother.”

Hogan had previously considered a run for the Florida Senate back in 2018.

Hogan also talked about the huge toll the wrestling life has his 70-year old body, citing 30 surgeries over the last 12 years.
