The first game of the season for the New York Jets was supposed to be the coronation of their new quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. But the excitement didn’t even last one drive, Rodger going down with a torn achilles. That type of diversity can make a team fold, but somehow the Jets managed to scrape a victory out of the Week 1 matchup.
The Week 11 clash between these division rivals is important for both teams. The Jets come into the game 4-5, and the Bills are 5-5. The Bills fired Ken Dorsey and replaced him as their offensive playcaller this week. That could lead to some new wrinkles, and coach firings often give teams a lift in the first week after a change.
The Jets are trying to hang on until they can get Rodgers back. As crazy as it sounds, Rodgers has been very public about his attempt to return if the Jets are in playoff contention. But a few more losses could keep the Jets from being in the playoff picture by the time Rodgers is able to return.

Bills vs. Jets betting recap from first matchup
The Bills were 2.5-point favorites on the road. With Rodgers out of the game for all but a few plays, hte live spread jumped way up. Yet not only did the Jets cover the spread, they won outright as underdogs.
The point total for the game was set at 44.5 points, and even with the game going into overtime, the under still hit. The Jets’ defense is as good as any in the NFL and has only given up over 20 points four times and over 30 points once.

New York Jets betting news
The Jets have only covered the spread in four out of nine games this season. The over has only hit three times. The defense is elite, holding opponents down while the offense has struggled mightily, and that has led to a perfect recipe for low-scoring games and a lot of unders.
The recipe has been simple for the Jets since Aaron Rodgers went down. When the offense scores 13 plus points, they almost always win; when it is under, they never win. They have only one loss when scoring over 13 points, and that was to the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
Zach Wilson has been the model of inconsistency, which was a part of the reason the Jets opted to trade for Aaron Rodgers in the offseason. What the Jets do have is two of the best-skill players on offense in the NFL. Breece Hall has elite flashes and appears 100% after recovering from a torn ACL.
At wide receiver, Garrett Wilson has been one of the most heavily targeted wide receivers in the NFL. The problem: Zach Wilson’s accuracy issues have resulted in only 55 catches on 95 targets. Regardless, the Jets will need to continue to force-feed Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson if they have any chance to score points until Rodgers returns.
Buffalo Bills betting news
Will the Bills offense look any different after firing offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey? Joe Brady will call plays as the interim coordinator, and not much of the offensive scheme will likely look different, but the hope is simply for better play selection.
After their season-opening loss to the Jets, the Bills won three straight games and covered each one. Since their 3-1 start, Buffalo has gone 2-4 while not covering a single time in those six games. That weak level of play was likely a big reason for the change at offensive coordinator.
Don’t blame it all on the playcalling, though; Josh Allen is still the one making the throws. And a lot of those throws have gone to the wrong team recently. He has thrown an interception in six straight games, including two in last week’s loss to Denver. If Allen does not play better, it won’t matter who is calling the plays.

New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills prediction: Jets defense stands tall to help cover the spread
This game should stay close. With the Jets underdogs by close to a touchdown, it seems like too much for the Bills to cover. While Buffalo may win, we don’t expect it to be by more than a touchdown.
