Herbert’s injury status will be worth monitoring, as it could significantly impact the Chargers’ offense and outlook moving forward.

Justin Herbert injury updates in Week 3

In the third quarter of Sunday’s matchup vs. Pittsburgh, Herbert walked gingerly to the sidelines, where he immediately sat on the ground.

Heinicke took over from there. Coming into the game, Herbert had been dealing with a high ankle sprain. He was questionable coming into the weekend, but Los Angeles allowed him to play through any injury concerns.

The Chargers did not provide further updates on Herbert’s status during the game, but Heinicke remained in at quarterback through their final drive. Los Angeles eventually fell 20-10 to the Steelers, falling to 2-1 this season.

After the game, Herbert said he believed that the injury wasn’t anything worse than aggravating his high ankle sprain again.

Herbert’s status will be worth monitoring headed into Week 4 as Los Angeles provides more updates on the quarterback’s injury.

This story will be updated.
