
4-star guards Kiyan Anthony (Syracuse) and Kayden Mingo (Penn State) are down to their final days in a LuHi jersey, and they’re making them count.
Anthony, son of Carmelo Anthony, had 25 points, five rebounds, and three assists on 9-15 shooting in the The Throne‘s title game and was named Finals MVP as Long Island Lutheran defeated Allen (TX) 71-68.
5-star junior guard Dylan Mingo totaled 15 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and four steals on 7-11 shooting, and Kayden Mingo had 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

In LuHi’s one-point quarterfinals victory over Nate Ament and Highland (VA), Dylan Mingo led the way with 18 points, five rebounds, three assists, and four steals on 7-13 shooting, and Anthony and Nigel James both scored 11 points on 5-10 shooting.
In the Crusaders’ 83-56 semifinals rout of Brennan (TX), Kayden Mingo totaled 18 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and four steals on 6-11 shooting, Anthony scored 17 points on 6-11 shooting, James had 14 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals on 6-9 shooting, and Dylan Mingo added 12 points.
Long Island Lutheran’s season is not over, as it heads to Indiana for Chipotle Nationals from Apr. 2-5 (Wednesday through Saturday).
On the girls side of The Throne, Nyla Brooks (UNC), Amirah Anderson (Boston College), and Theresa Hagans Jr. (Pitt) led Bishop Ireton to a title as the sixth seed, capped off with a convincing revenge victory over No. 2 Bishop McNamara.
