After a Western Conference Finals sweep and an offseason of chatter, Los Angeles and Denver will rekindle a developing rivalry in Tuesday’s season opener. Lakers players are clearly entering this matchup with additional motivation because they believe the Nuggets aimed plenty of trash talk at them after winning the 2023 championship.
“They can do it indirectly if they want, but I think it was very obvious to the public eye,” Lakers guard Austin Reaves said earlier this month. “That’s why everybody was talking about it.”
