The NFC North-leading Detroit Lions head to Baltimore on Sunday afternoon to face the AFC North’s front-running Ravens in a Week 7 NFL matchup in the 2023 season. We’re looking at the latest Lions vs. Ravens odds and props, and offer our prediction.
It’s one of two games this weekend that pits division kingpins against each other (Miami vs. Philadelphia is the other).
Baltimore opened as a 3-point favorite (-120) when the odds for this meeting were posted Sunday night at the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas. While the point spread remained at a field goal going into the weekend, sportsbooks are attaching extra juice to Lions +3.
The over/under total sits .
Both teams are doing well in the standings and making their betting backers a profit. Detroit (5-1), with a 2.5-game lead in its division, is tied with Miami for the best record against the spread at 5-1. Baltimore (4-2), half a game up in its loop, is 4-2 ATS.
In over/unders, the Lions have a 3-3 O/U record. In Baltimore’s games, the under has resulted in a payout in five of six outings.

Here are the latest live NFL betting odds for the Lions vs. Ravens
The Ravens lead the series 5-1 (4-2 ATS) since the franchise shift from Cleveland to Baltimore in 1996.
In the teams’ last meeting, in Week 3 of the 2021 season, the visiting Ravens won at the gun in historic fashion. Justin Tucker launched a 66-yard field goal, the longest in NFL history, to win 19-17. That cost then-rookie Lions coach Dan Campbell his first victory.
This will be Baltimore’s first game at home in four weeks, following two true road games and last week’s 24-16 win in London against Tennessee.
Teams not opting for a bye after returning home from a game overseas the past two years have gone 6-2 straight up and 4-4 ATS.

Lions vs. Ravens injury report
Detroit’s top three rushers are banged up, but none more so than leading ground gainer David Montgomery, who is expected to miss multiple games with a rib cartilage injury.
The Ravens, meanwhile, don’t appear to have major issues.
Here is the current injury report for the Lions vs. Ravens matchup:
Lions betting news
One of the big turnarounds for the Lions this year has been the play of the defense, which ranked last in 2022 by allowing 392.4 yards per game. It was the first time in 11 seasons a team with a winning record had the worst-ranked unit. This year, Detroit stands eighth in defensive rankings, giving up just 285.5 yards a game.
Causing lots of chaos for the unit is last year’s second-overall draft choice, DE Aidan Hutchinson, who’s got 4.5 sacks and has routinely collapsed the pocket when getting after the quarterback.
On offense, the Lions will need rookie RB Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) to return and help fill the substantial void left by Montgomery’s injury. Gibbs missed the past two games.
Regardless, QB Jared Goff, the league’s third-ranked passer, will have to step up again. He had a season-best 353 yards last week in a 20-6 win at Tampa Bay.
Ravens betting news
Grabbing headlines last week were the Ravens’ ham-handed receivers who dropped seven passes from QB Lamar Jackson, including at least two that would have resulted in scores. The Ravens lost to Pittsburgh 17-10 despite being a 4.5-point favorite.
However, the Ravens’ pass defense has been particularly strong in recent weeks, holding the Titans’ Ryan Tannehill and Cleveland emergency backup starter Dorian Thompson-Robinson to passer ratings below the Mendoza Line of 39.6.
One thing the Ravens are going to have to clean up is all the penalties. Against Tennessee last week, the Titans got eight first downs off penalties.

Lions vs. Ravens predictions
The game will feature the Lions’ fourth-ranked offense against the Ravens’ fourth-rated defense.
The problem is that Detroit could be without both starting guards, just like last week when it had only 40 yards on 22 rushes. Not to mention the likelihood of Campbell having to reach into the practice squad for RBs to help carry the load.
Information: NFL futures odds
For Baltimore, QB Lamar Jackson should be able to exploit a Lions defense that is getting back star CB Brian Branch but still has missing pieces.
And what are the chances Baltimore keeps coming up empty on goal-to-goal possessions, going a cumulative 0-for-4 the past two weeks? Detroit has allowed foes to score on nine of 11 such possessions this season.
