ETIHAD STADIUM, MANCHESTER — Manchester City will seek to put a lacklustre performance against Chelsea behind them when they host Brentford in the Premier League.
Saturday’s 1-1 draw left Pep Guardiola’s defending champions third in the table, although a victory tonight would see them leapfrog Arsenal and move to within a point of leaders Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp’s side thrashed Brentford 4-1 at the weekend and the Bees were beaten 3-1 by City earlier this month when Phil Foden helped himself to a hat-trick at the Gtech Community Stadium.
This is City’s rescheduled fixture from when they won the FIFA Club World Cup in December, with their next match not until Saturday evening, when they travel to Bournemouth. Liverpool are next in action a day later against Luton Town, just four days out from the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium.
