Once per season, the best baseball players in the world come to one field to put on a show for the fans.
Donned the Midsummer Classic, the MLB All-Star Game is a star-powered event headlined by baseball’s top talent. From veterans Salvador Perez and Chris Sale to rookie Paul Skenes, the game is stacked.
The American League has the advantage in the all-time head-to-head record, but the National League won the contest 3-2 last season. It was the first time the National League won the All-Star Game since 2012.
Skenes will start for the National League on Tuesday, becoming the sixth youngest player to get the bump at the Midsummer Classic. He’ll face a stacked American League starting lineup that includes Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, Gunnar Henderson, and Yordan Alvarez.
The National League lineup is led by Shohei Ohtani, who is in his first year with the Dodgers. He’s playing as just a designated hitter, as the two-way superstar hasn’t pitched this season as he recovers from an elbow injury.
Treat Turner and Bryce Harper also headline the National League starters.
