Ronald Acuna Jr. suffered a right knee injury in the Braves’ Saturday afternoon game against the Marlins in Miami.
Acuna was tracking a drive to deep right field by the Marlins’ Jazz Chisholm. He leaped but couldn’t make the catch. The ball went just over Acuna’s outstretched glove and hit off the base of the wall.

Acuna came down and crashed into the wall, and then couldn’t get up.
The outfielder tried to leave the field under his own power but couldn’t. He went back down to the turf and was eventually carted to the dugout and carried into the locker room by Atlanta staffers. He was visibly upset.
The injury doesn’t look good for the 23-year-old Acuna, who was named to his second All-Star team this week. The Braves had not provided an update on his condition as of this writing and manager Brian Snitker said on 680 The Fan that they’d know more in the morning about his status.
Snit says they’ll know more about Ronald Acuna Jr’s status in the morning. He’s still undergoing evaluation.

MLB Twitter is certainly worried about Acuna. It took time to send him well wishes after his injury.
HORRIBLE!!! Ronald Acuña Jr. injures his right knee jumping for a fly ball on the warning track in Miami. He was down for a few minutes but limping off the field now. pic.twitter.com/ISiJqm1deC

Watching Ronald Acuña Jr. cry is not something I was prepared to see today.

I feel awful. Ronald Acuña Jr. has walked off or bounced back quickly from several injury scares in his brief career. Sincerely hope this is another of those. pic.twitter.com/2SqqZxwc7l

Ronald Acuña Jr. can have BOTH of my legs, frankly.

Baseball is at its best when its biggest stars are on the field. Hoping for the best possible outcome for Ronald Acuna, Jr. and the Braves.pic.twitter.com/zLtWL4y9K3

Hopefully Ronald Acuña’s injury isn’t as bad as it looked. Just a couple weeks ago it looks like Giannis destroyed his knee and he’s playing in the NBA Finals.

Acuna entered Saturday with a .284/.392/.593 slash line and 24 home runs. Abraham Almonte replaced him in right field after the injury.
