Freddie Freeman and wife Chelsea Freeman have donated $1 million to the CHOC Foundation, and she glowed all night as an honorary chair at its annual gala.
The wife of the Los Angeles Dodgers star attended the soirée solo. Hubs was needed elsewhere; the team had a game that night, so the famous couple were forced to divide and conquer.
At the event, Chelsea, 34, rocked a black gown with side cut-outs, which she showed off in a Monday, May 26 Instagram post. In later moments of the nine-slide carousel, Chelsea featured her flawless blonde hair and makeup, and a picture with country star Blake Shelton, who performed at the swanky event.
“It’s a night I’ll carry with me forever,” the mother of three sons wrote in the caption. “The theme, Champions for Children, couldn’t have been more fitting.”
She went on to say that not only did the theme honor the Dodgers (who are reigning World Series champions), but it honored “the true champions,” pediatric medical teams.
Last year, Chelsea’s young son Max (siblings are twin Brandon and big brother Charlie) was treated for an emergency medical incident that turned out to be Guillain-Barré syndrome, according to a May 26 article on MLB News. “One of the most meaningful moments of the evening,” Chelsea continued, “was getting to hug the very doctors who helped save our son’s life.”
With the Freemans’ help, the evening raised $7.4 million for the nonprofit arm of Children’s Hospital of Orange County, the hospital that treated Max.
