NBA Finals 2025 live score: Pacers vs. Thunder updates, results, highlights from Game 2

By | June 8, 2025

After 48 minutes of the 2025 NBA Finals, the Pacers have the upper hand β€” despite leading for under one second.

Indiana added another historic comeback to its 2025 playoff run in Thursday’s Game 1 against the Thunder, with another Tyrese Haliburton game-winner, this one with 0.3 seconds remaining, sealing the victory. Now, the Pacers are armed with a 1-0 series lead heading into Sunday’s Game 2, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder are potentially staring down a 2-0 series deficit before the matchup even moves to Indiana.

If Game 1 was any indication, the 2025 Finals will be closer than some anticipated after Oklahoma City entered as the heavy favorite. Even with the Thunder forcing 24 Pacers turnovers while getting 38 points from the MVP, Gilgeous-Alexander, the team collapsed in the final minutes. Comebacks have been Indiana’s patented route to playoff wins over the past few weeks, a theme that held true as Haliburton, Andrew Nembhard, and Pascal Siakam led the Pacers to their first Finals victory in 25 years.

While Indiana’s quick, multi-faceted offense will continue to make it a threat at any point of a game, Oklahoma City is still a force to be reckoned with β€” and there were plenty of positive Game 1 takeaways for Mark Daigneault’s unit. A historic Thunder defense looked to be hitting a new peak, and until the final moments, Oklahoma City was on the verge of a strong start to the series.

Instead, Game 2 is already set to be a huge momentum swinger. Another Pacers win would set them up terrifically to take a 3-0 or 3-1 series lead at home, while a Thunder win would make a critical statement after their collapse to begin the NBA Finals. Haliburton, Gilgeous-Alexander, and Nembhard were the stars of Game 1. Who will step up to lead their team to a Game 2 victory in Oklahoma City on Sunday night?

Pacers vs. Thunder highlights from Game 2 of 2025 NBA Finals

All times ET.

9:42 p.m. β€” The Thunder have answered the Pacers’ third-quarter run, making it a 16-point lead once again. Alex Caruso now has 13 points, which trails only Gilgeous-Alexander’s 21 on the Thunder.

9:31 p.m. β€” Myles Turner has eight quick points in the third quarter alone, three of which came from the free-throw line. The big man is doing his best to get Indiana back within single-digits.

9:27 p.m. β€” The third quarter is underway, with Indiana needing a run to get back in Game 2.

Halftime: Thunder 59, Pacers 41

9:08 p.m. β€” At the break, Oklahoma City is in command. The Thunder exploded in the second quarter, which they won 33-21, and they’ve gotten strong performances from a variety of players. Gilgeous-Alexander leads the way with 15 points, but Holmgren (11), Williams (9), Wiggins (8) and Caruso (8) are all right behind him.

As for Indiana, Tyrese Haliburton has struggled, shooting 1-for-5 from the floor with three points. Siakam leads the way with nine points, but the Pacers are 7-of-22 from deep as a team. However, they did get a 10-0 run in shortly before halftime.

9:07 p.m. β€” As the first half winds to a close, no Pacers player has reached double-digit scoring yet. OKC has dominated the second quarter.

9:04 p.m. β€” Aaron Wiggins with a nasty step-back over Tyrese Haliburton:

8:55 p.m. β€” Oklahoma City is on a 20-9 run in the second quarter. Back-to-back SGA buckets have the Thunder rolling.

8:49 p.m. β€” Make it a 15-point Oklahoma City lead. Williams is now up to seven points, while a Holmgren slam moves the big man to 11. Even with Gilgeous-Alexander slowing down after a hot start, the Thunder are in control.

8:41 p.m. β€” OKC briefly extended its advantage to 10 early in the second quarter. While the Pacers have shown no lead is safe against them, it’s been a good start for the Thunder. Jalen Williams hit an and-one, then another jumper to make it 35-27.

8:37 p.m. β€” A notable stat that helps put Gilgeous-Alexander’s outstanding 2024-25 season into perspective:

End of first quarter: Thunder 26, Pacers 20

8:35 p.m. β€” The fifth quarter of the 2025 Finals comes to an end with the Thunder reclaiming the momentum. Holmgren is up to nine points after a layup to end the frame, leading OKC. Indiana is having a better start than it did on Thursday, but still trails by six.

8:32 p.m. β€” After a quiet Game 1, Chet Holmgren is having a nice start. The big man swatted a layup attempt from Toppin, then nailed a three soon after to reach seven early points.

8:24 p.m. β€” The Pacers tie it at 17 in the first quarter with an Obi Toppin three.

8:21 p.m. β€” It’s been a much quicker start for Indiana compared to Game 1, when it didn’t take the lead until the final second. But the Thunder still lead 16-11, with SGA leading the charge thus far.

8:16 p.m. β€” After widespread online complaints about the lack of Finals signage on the court during Game 1, ESPN has added digital Larry O’Brien trophies to the court for Game 2.

8:11 p.m. β€” Offenses are hot in the first quarter. Through five minutes, Andrew Nembhard has five of Indiana’s 10 points, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has five of Oklahoma City’s 12 points.

8:08 p.m. β€” They’re underway in Oklahoma City. Cason Wallace starts the scoring with a layup, and Pascal Siakam answers with a 3-pointer.

Pregame

8:01 p.m. β€” Game 2 is about to tip off. Will the Pacers go up 2-0, or will the Thunder knot the series at one game apiece?

7:53 p.m. β€” Perhaps more interestingly, the Thunder are sticking with the same starters from Game 1, when they went small for the first time this postseason. Isaiah Hartenstein comes off the bench again.

7:52 p.m. β€” Same starting five for the Pacers, from Haliburton to Myles Turner.

7:06 p.m. β€” Do these Pacers have more tricks up their sleeves for Game 2?

7:05 p.m. β€” A few days removed from his heroic Game 1 shot, Tyrese Haliburton has arrived for Game 2.

7:02 p.m. β€” About an hour until tip off in OKC. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s former college coach, John Calipari, is in the building.
