The NBA Finals is kicking into high gear, setting up the potential for a long series.
The Pacers stood firm in Game 3, winning the team’s first home NBA Finals game in 25 years to take a 2-1 lead. Indiana got huge bench contributions from Bennedict Mathurin and T.J. McConnell had big games to help them wear out the Thunder.
Additionally, Tyrese Haliburton rebounded well from his quiet Game 2, producing 22 points, 11 assists, and nine rebounds for his best statistical game of the series. Pascal Siakam chipped in an additional 21 points and six rebounds as Indiana came from behind to secure the pivotal victory.

Meanwhile, the Thunder are once again looking to regain home-court advantage, but they’re in a much more dire situation than before. Oklahoma City’s big three of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, and Chet Holmgren all scored at least 20 points last game, combining for 70 of the Thunder’s 107 points.
However, Oklahoma City closed poorly, getting outscored by 14 points in the fourth quarter. Indiana was successfully able to wear them down, to the point where the Thunder’s stifling defense allowed 32 points in the fourth quarter.
If the Thunder win, they will tie the series at two games apiece with the series heading back to Oklahoma City for Game 5. A loss, though, means Oklahoma City would be down 3-1 and facing troubling history in the NBA Finals.
