NCAA softball tournament 2022: Full regionals bracket, TV schedule for Road to Women’s College World Series

By | May 22, 2022

The flowers are fully bloomed, the temperature is rising and school is beginning to wrap up. That can only mean one thing: the 2022 Women’s College World Series is on the horizon.

Last year’s winner of the NCAA Division I softball championship, Oklahoma, looks poised for another deep run in the tournament. The Sooners enter NCAA play at 49-2, earning the No. 1 overall seed in this year’s bracket. Led by the trio of sophomore Tiare Jennings and seniors Grace Lyons and Jocelyn Alo — the latter the NCAA’s all-time home run leader  —  Oklahoma has to be considered the tournament favorite.

But there’s a host of talent across the collegiate softball landscape. The 64 teams that make up the tournament field will hope to strut their stuff on the diamond and move on to the next step on the road to Oklahoma City, the super regionals, which take place from May 26-29.

Take a look at all the information you need to watch the college softball postseason:

NCAA softball tournament bracket 2022

The NCAA released the full softball tournament bracket May 15 with the 16 host sites and the rankings of the top teams in the nation.

Each team is placed in a mini bracket with three other schools. The top seed in each bracket will host the No. 4 seed, while the No. 2 seed in each bracket clashes with the No. 3 seed. Teams will play a minimum of two games

Teams play a minimum of two games before being sent home. Meanwhile, a team needs three wins to advance out of the regional stage and into super regionals. There, the dream of collegiate softball glory becomes more tangible with the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City just one step away.
