The road to Oklahoma City begins May 19. NCAA softball is getting its time to shine over the next three weeks. By June 9, only one team will be left standing as champion of the NCAA Women’s College World Series.
Will Oklahoma — who are 51-1 — win it all for a third consecutive year? If not, it will have to do something it hasn’t done since February — lose.
Conference tournaments are all wrapped up, the top 16 seeds in the bracket have been determined and the 64 teams are ready for first pitch. From Seattle to Tallahassee, Los Angeles to Knoxville, there will be NCAA softball tournament action across the country.

NCAA softball tournament bracket 2023
The NCAA revealed the Division I softball tournament bracket on May 14. It listed the 16 host sites and unveiled the top 16 seeds in the tournament. Two-time defending champion Oklahoma (51-1) is the No. 1 overall seed. The Sooners won the Big 12 Conference Tournament by defeating Texas 6-1 in the final.
Teams in the regionals will compete to advance to the super regionals. The regionals are “win or go home,” but rather double elimination. The top seed in each region will begin play against the fourth seed, while the second seed will take on the third. Three wins will be required to advance.
