It’s not just a battle between the best of the Big Ten. It’s a battle for a trip to the national championship.
Nebraska and Penn State meet in the NCAA volleyball semifinals with just about everything on the line.
The co-Big Ten champions met just once this season in one of the final games of the season. The Nittany Lions took the four-set victory at home, handing the Huskers their first conference loss. Penn State will need to have the game of its life if it wants to beat Nebraska again on the biggest stage.
The Huskers are no strangers to playing under pressure after last year’s run in the tournament. Back on the national stage, they have a chip on their shoulder, ready to avenge last year’s title loss. And not even a conference rival will stop them now that they’re here.
Jess Mruzik, Harper Murray, Lexi Rodriguez and Izzy Starck take the court at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville on Thursday. Only one of the historic programs will accomplish this year’s goal and compete for the 2024 NCAA volleyball championship.
