NFL odds, lines, point spreads: Updated Week 9 betting information for picking every game

By | October 31, 2023

Following an action-packed 16-game slate in Week 8, the Week 9 NFL betting card is a 14-gamer, as the 49ers, Jaguars, Lions, and Broncos get some much-needed PTO. Despite two fewer games available for NFL bettors to wager on, the Week 9 slate features several must-watch (and potentially bettable) matchups.

Week 9 gets underway with the 4-3 Steelers (-3) hosting the 3-4 Titans on Thursday night. Titans’ rookie QB Will Levis, who flashed in his NFL debut with four TDs, gets his second career NFL start, potentially against the Mitch Trubisky-led Steelers.

On Sunday, each viewing window presents at least one matchup between teams with winning records. The penultimate matchup of the 2023 International Series pits the 6-2 Chiefs (-2.5) against the 6-2 Dolphins in a potential shootout on Sunday morning. The other must-watch matchups on Sunday feature the Ravens-Seahawks, Eagles-Cowboys, and Bengals-Bills — three games with low spreads, indicating there could be plenty of late-game drama.

Below, we’ll look at the latest odds for Week 9 from Caesars Sportsbook and offer up a couple of early bets to consider. Keep in mind these lines will move throughout the week as we get updates on the playing status of key starters and betting limits increase.

NFL best bets for Week 9

*Odds and analysis as of Monday 10/30*

Chiefs -2.5 (-110) vs. Dolphins

We’re not going to overreact to Kansas City’s “shocking” 24-9 loss in Denver. Despite failing to score a TD against a struggling Broncos’ stop unit, the Chiefs offense should get back on track against a middling Dolphins defense. Until Miami proves they can hang with the heavyweights, we’ll lay the -2.5 (-110) to back the reigning Super Bowl champions in Germany.

Chargers -2.5 (-120) @ Jets

This line was Chargers -1.5 (-110) when I started this piece, but rightfully so, the Chargers have since been bet up to -2.5 (-120). I’ll take anything under a field goal to back a superior offense that can generate ample scoring drives against a sound Jets defense. Had Graham Gano knocked in a 35-yarder to push the Giants lead to six toward the end of regulation, there was little-to-no chance Zach Wilson was leading a game-winning TD drive with less than 30 seconds and no timeouts. The Jets got a gift in Week 8, but they won’t get one in Week 9.
