Saturday’s slate features eight games including Ravens vs. Packers, Vikings vs. Eagles, and Rams vs. Texans. Let’s examine NFL preseason Week 3 point spreads, moneylines, and OVER/UNDERs now.

Colts vs. Bengals

Don’t expect to see many starters for either team, but there’s plenty of intrigue around second-stringers who can secure their spots on the final roster.

One Indianapolis player to watch is Jason Bean (pictured above), who came into camp as the fourth quarterback on the depth chart. Bean has since played his way into contention for a roster spot. He’s gone 11-of-15 for 145 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the preseason so far.

  • Spread: Colts -6.5 (-110) vs. Bengals +6.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Colts -285 vs. Bengals +230
  • Total points: OVER 35.5 (-105) / UNDER 35.5 (-115)

This matchup will come down to backup quarterbacks and players fighting for roster spots. We lean one toward the Bengals to cover. They have a plethora of running backs trying to fight for the last spot or two, which could lead to a few big plays that tilt things in Cincinnati’s favor.

Bears vs. Chiefs

Don’t expect to see either Caleb Williams or Patrick Mahomes in this game. As much as fans would salivate over that quarterback duel, both players have shown plenty in the preseason and will have to wait for Week 1 to take the field again.

The Chiefs will likely give backup Carson Wentz a few series before he hands it off to Chris Oladukun. For the Bears, Tyson Bagent will get some time before Brett Rypien will likely take the rest of the snaps.

  • Spread: Bears -5.5 (-110) vs. Chiefs +5.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Bears -250 vs. Chiefs +200
  • Total points: OVER 32.5 (-105) / UNDER 32.5 (-115)

While backup and third-string quarterbacks often make for boring matchups, don’t expect that in this matchup. Rypien has gone 15-of-21 for 229 yards and three touchdowns in the preseason, while Oladukun is 13-of-17 for 184 yards and one touchdown. We give the edge to the Chiefs to at least cover here, as they have received some strong performances from reserve running backs like Carson Steele and Deneric Prince.

Steelers vs. Lions

The Steelers have a lot of questions about their offense coming into the last preseason game. Mike Tomlin told the media earlier this week that he would address playing time after practice on Thursday. It would not be surprising to see Russell Wilson and Justin Fields both get snaps, as neither has played well enough to win the starting quarterback job.

For the Lions, Hendon Hooker will likely start after he played much better than Nate Sudfeld in Detroit’s second preseason game. Hooker’s play was a significant development, as the depth behind Jared Goff is a concern. If Hooker plays well, he could secure the backup job; if he plays poorly, don’t be shocked if the Lions take a veteran quarterback off the waiver wire after final roster cuts.

  • Spread: Steelers -6.5 (-115) vs. Lions +6.5 (-105)
  • Moneyline: Steelers -300 vs. Lions +250
  • Total points: OVER 34. 5 (-115) / UNDER 34.5 (-105)

With the Lions having a decent amount of points on their side, we like them to cover. Pittsburgh’s offense has struggled, and Detroit showed last week that they can move the football with Hooker at QB.
